The Boeing Phantom Works N+2 (2nd generation) Supersonic System Study focused on the development of a small supersonic aircraft design that overcomes the cruise efficiency, weight, durability and handling/ride qualities challenges with acceptable airport noise, sonic boom and high altitude emissions that will enter service in the 2020 timeframe. Boeing Phantom Works teamed with Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce & the Georgia Institute of Technology on this NASA supersonic NRA contract.
